Welcome to our national museum, the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa! Our 60 minute guided tour is the key to showing you the secrets and treasures within this amazing place - TE PAPA! Don't waste a minute of your time. Come with us on a journey of discovery! We offer a great package that includes a guided tour and two rides: Blastback Ride and Future Rush Ride.

Since its opening in 1998, Te Papa has built a worldwide reputation for its fresh and bold approach to presenting a nation's treasures and stories. In that time, over ten million people have come to enjoy this unique museum experience.

Te Papa is a waharoa, a gateway, to an encounter with the essence of New Zealand's land and people. Wonderful taonga (Maori cultural treasures), art, and objects are presented through fascinating stories, thought-provoking interpretations, and engaging interactives.

Over the five floors of our huge building you can explore the breadth of the New Zealand story - from the shaping of its land to the spirit of its diverse peoples, from its unique wildlife to its distinctive visual culture.

Summary: Tour does not include hotel pick-up. Rates are per person and in US dollars. Please reserve online or call us toll-free at 800-719-8190. There is a $3.95 processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order.
There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

You will encounter Maori, New Zealand's indigenous people, through authentic portrayals of their traditions and living culture as well as Te Papa's unique Marae (communal meeting place), a setting that all visitors are encouraged to connect with.

Underpinning the exhibition experience are Te Papa's collections, managed and made accessible by world-class curatorship. The collections are developed and enhanced by ongoing programmes of research.

Te Papa is a place that welcomes visitors of all ages and interests. Along with stimulating exhibitions there are also engaging and fun presentations, including an animated theatre, motion simulator rides into the past and future, and interactives such as a virtual bungy-jump. With its hands-on learning areas and interactivity, Te Papa is a wonderful place for children.

To complement your visit there is a vibrant and constantly changing programme of events and entertainment.

Introducing Te Papa Guided Tour:
This tour gives you an overview of Te Papa in 60 minutes. Ideal for visitors with limited time or wanting an introduction for an extended visit. Language: English only.

Introducing Te Papa Tour, Blastback Ride and Future Rush Ride:
Same tour as above but with a through a Time Warp. The Time Warp uses the latest interactive technology to amaze, challenge, and inform you. Journey through time with Blastback and Future Rush or stay in the Present Zone.

Blastback takes you back sixty-five million years through prehistoric landscapes. See Maui carve up the land and new New Zealand's formation.

Future Rush flies you into the future with Rima, a girl from the future. Glimpse Wellington in the year 2055 through interactive virtual reality and a motion-simulator ride. Visit Rima's super modern house and fly around Wellington in a futuristic car.
