Harmony with Horses is a half-day horse riding adventure which features a challenging natural horsemanship session followed by a freestyle ride over the spectacular Rangitikei hill country.  This experience is suitable for all ability levels.

You'll start by building a trusting relationship between you and your horse.  It doesn't matter if you are new to horses or if they have been a part of your life forever.  Trainers will work with you at the level you need to be working at.

Next, you'll take your horse, who is now your partner, out into the beautiful countryside of River Valley.  Here you will have the opportunity to try everything you learned as you ride over the hills, taking in the spectacular scenery and cantering through the fields.

To book a longer, 6-hour version of this tour, with a picnic lunch included, please order the Full Day Horsemanship Experience with Lunch.

What is Natural Horsemanship?

Natural Horsemanship is about the partnership between horse and human.  Your guides have spent time building this connection with the horses and working with them in a way that makes the horses feel good about their work.  It is this connection between you and your horse that makes this experience unique.

What is freestyle riding?

Freestyle is not English or Western riding, but does have some similarities to both these disciplines.  Riding Freestyle is riding in a halter, so no metal bits are in the horse’s mouth.  It encourages you to build a connection with your horse. It feels fun and free when you have that connection together.
